Welcome to The Shermer High Alumni Association

The unofficial rewatch club for latchkey kids, VHS junkies, and anyone who still quotes movies from the 1980s without shame or context.

We’re Carole, Jeannine, and Kristin—three Gen X sisters who grew up on a steady diet of Blockbuster rentals, questionable fashion choices, and the belief that you could solve anything with a training montage. Now we’re revisiting the films that shaped us… and asking the hard-hitting questions like:

  • Did this age well or should it be locked in the attic with the Dollangangers?

  • Was that romantic… or wildly inappropriate?

  • And why was everyone in 1987 so sweaty?

Each week, we rewatch a classic (or not-so-classic) movie from the ’80s and break it down—scene by scene—with sharp commentary, deep nostalgia, and zero fear of ruining childhood memories.

Some episodes are hilarious. Some are emotionally scarring. All are unsupervised.

What You Can Expect:

  • Rewatches with adult eyes (and adult beverages)

  • Honest takes on what holds up—and what really, really doesn’t

  • Sisterly banter, movie trivia, and cultural time capsules

  • And a whole lot of love for the decade that gave us everything from E.T. to Howard the Duck

If you ever felt seen by The Breakfast Club, confused by Tootsie, or deeply moved by Pee-wee’s Big Adventure—you’re in the right place.

So grab your denim jacket, rewind that tape, and join us.
We’re all alumni of Shermer High now.
